In 129 BCE, the Han Empire launched four military expeditions. They were led by generals Wei Qin, Gungsun He, Li Guang, and Gungsun Ao, respectively. The one led by Wei Qin was an astonishing success. The ones led by Li Guang and Gungsun Ao quickly ended in their defeats by the Xiongnu. The one led by Gunsun He failed to engage the enemy. |
